Yes, there is a 20 year Legendary Lawman and Law Woman Pin. The submission protocols are the same as the 10 year pin as follows: Eligible Deputies submit a Legendary Lawman/Law Woman Recognition Pin request form to their Unit Commander for consideration. Unit Commanders submit the form to the Division Chief or Division Director for approval. Once the request is reviewed and approved, it is forwarded to the Employee Relations Unit for final review. The requests are then forwarded to the Office of the Sheriff. The Sheriff or his designee will personally distribute the pins. After the award has been presented to the employee, the application form is sent to Personnel Administration for filing in the employee’s personnel file. Here’s a picture of the pin.
The previous “If I Were Sheriff” program and Intranet link you provided are no longer in use and have been archived. New methods of organizational communication have evolved and are in use. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The pages have been removed.
The initial plans are to mail the first two publications out to Department members so they can get familiar with the newsletter and develop an understanding of how to submit rumors, questions, or concerns they would like considered. We intend to go to an electronic, on-line only, version after the launch period. The cost to print and mail the first publication was just over $6,000. That is roughly 33 cents per employee to give all Department members a voice and keep them informed and up-to-date using real-life terms and not complicated political jargon. Strengthening our Department’s communications and giving our employees an avenue to be heard is money well spent if it helps keep us all informed and engaged.
